About:  Tim Elliott

Tim Elliott was born and raised in Franklin MA and now resides in Attleboro MA.  Usually found with a pencil and sketchbook in hand he grew up drawing and painting.  With a yearning to further this passion he attended the Rhode Island School of Design and Syracuse University – majoring in Industrial Design in the School of Visual and Performing Arts.  Over the last 30 years Tim has created drawings and portraits that are in public and corporate collections across the United States.  Although he is skilled in a variety of media his main tool of the trade currently is graphite, colored pencil, charcoal and washes.

Tim’s work has recently been exhibited in the National Juried Show at the Attleboro Arts Museum where he has been an artist member for many years.  His latest portrait “Spirited Soul” was on display at the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative “Faces & Figures” exhibition in Pawtucket RI; and his artwork is regularly exhibited as part of the Members Exhibition at the Attleboro Arts Museum December through January.

Artist Statement

I am fascinated with the endless array of facial expression.  My drawings are an observation and translation of the individual’s disposition.  I construct each drawing to reveal the unique nuances of my subject's facial personality; the spirit of their character.  With an emphasis on the subtle sculpting of layers, tone and value - until a "spark" comes through…a point in the process where the soul of the subject emerges; to release an emotional connection to the viewer.

Tim is currently accepting both private and corporate commissions for his artwork.
